Institutions are finding ways to use state funds more effectively and gathering several community organizations to help raise funding for more pre-K opportunities. Several charter schools in the city are looking to partner with other childhood centers to help with filling the pre-K spots of 4,000 quality child care spots.
Confluence Academies is one of the largest charter school networks in the city and is already offering free preschool. Dr. Candice Carter-Oliver, Confluence Academies Chief Executive Officer, is hoping to use her school's role to be a resource to answer any questions and share the schools' missions and values for best practices.
