Educators for Gun Safety will distribute free gun locks and demonstrate step-by-step, gun safety measures to any member of the community; the event is focused on gun owners who have children around their home. Free locks will be available while supplies last.
All are welcome at this event, and anyone over 21 can pick up gun locks for themselves, neighbors, or friends. There is no need to sign in or provide any personal information. Free refreshments will be served, and attendees can also receive free t-shirts.
The event will also feature videos on the family trauma of gun violence and a gun lock demonstration, created with support from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, Women’s Voices for Social Justice and “Locks of Love,” and two St. Louis families who struggle with the profound loss and tragedy created by guns in our community.
